Two years after the first edition in Bratislava, Slovakia, the second Conference of the European Biogas Association in Egmond aan Zee, The Netherlands, saw a doubled audience of 200+ participants as well as a one day longer event. The conference was co-hosted by Energy Valley and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.
Main topics were the role of biogas in Europe’s energy and transportation policies, substrates, digestate and biomethane. Speakers came from leading biogas and biomethane businesses and research bodies from several European countries and beyond.
A special spotlight was on biomass gasification during the full day Biomass Gasificaton Europe conference in Alkmaar. The event covered the advanced technology of biomass gasification including biomass supply and cost balance, and hosted the launch of Investa, the Institute for Valorisation and Expertise in Thermochemics Alkmaar.
Study tours visiting biogas plants in the Amsterdam region and Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) completed the programme.
