Dr. Bernhard Drosg is Senior Researcher at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU University). In addition, he is Area Manager for the Research Area “Biogas and bioconversion systems” in the Austrian Research Competence Centre “Bioenergy2020+”.
In 2007 he received a Diploma in Food and Biotechnology at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna. There he continued on in the area of biogas, and in 2012 he received his PhD on “Energy recovery in grain bioethanol production by anaerobic digestion of stillage fractions”. Since 2010 Bernhard Drosg has also been the Austrian representative in the “IEA Bioenergy Task 37 – Energy from Biogas” at the International Energy Association. In 2015 he became Area Manager in the Austrian Research Competence Centre Bioenergy2020+. Apart from his research activities, Bernhard Drosg is also a lecturer at BOKU University, University of Applied Sciences „FH Campus Wien” and University of Applied Sciences „FH Wiener Neustadt”. His main areas of interest in biogas are process monitoring and optimisation, digestate treatment/processing and high nitrogen feedstocks. In addition, the last five years he has also focused on microalgae technologies.
