The 2018 EBA conference will see the first edition of the Greening Gas Award. The Greening Gas Award acknowledges the best achievement in green methane incorporation into the current business of a DSO (Distribution System Operator) or TSO (Transmission System Operator). The achievements susceptible for consideration include own projects, partnerships, research, communications and dissemination work, among other things.

Besides the award, the winner will receive a diploma, an annual EBA membership (should the winner not be already an EBA member) and free tickets to the 2018 EBA conference where the award ceremony will take place.

Proposals submission and selection process

Any DSO/TSO located in continental Europe is invited to submit a brief description of their achievements (projects and/or initiatives) eligible for the award, with the following requirements:

• The submission must present a highlighted project on biomethane grid injection activities, including: own projects, biomethane utilisation, improved condition for gas grid connection, and greening gas development activities.
• Submissions must be presented in pdf format, with a maximum of five pages, including pictures and/or graphs as an annex, if desired.
• All completed submissions must be sent before December 15, 2025 via email to EBA, [email protected]

The award committee will select one winner. The winner will be contacted personally, followed by an official announcement during the event.

Award committee

A committee of dedicated and reputable experts will be in charge of examining and evaluating all proposals submitted by interested candidates and nominees. The EBA Board will comprise the award committee during the first edition.

Award ceremony

The winner of the first Greening Gas Award will be announced in a dedicated ceremony taking place before the EBA conference dinner on January 24. A special video will be produced for the winner, detailing their achievement while the award is handed over to them.
